2010年ISBD的目標
1)不同來源的書目資料,得以互相交換
 make records from different sources interchangeable,so that records produced in one
country can be easily accepted in libaray catalogues or other bibliographic lists in
 any other country;
2)跨越語言障礙,即使不認識其語言,也能辨別內容
 assist in the interpretation of records across language barriers, so that records
 produced for users of one language can be interpreted by users of other languages
3)協助轉換傳統形式的書目記錄為電子形式的書目記錄
 assist in the conversion of bibliographic records to electronic form
4)增進與其他標準的互通性
 enhance interoperability with other content standards

中國機讀編目格式CMARK

各國都發展各自的MARK,多達20幾種,因為交換不易,所以國際圖書館聯盟於1977出版UNIMARK

台灣&中國
都是從UNIMARK轉換而來,大部分可以互通

         205後面 UNIMARK相容

MARK 1966年出現
